National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzela has confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.

According to information sourced by faceofMalawi, the fracas happened on Tuesday night following reports that a certain family was forcefully keeping children in the house against their wish.

The development angered the residents who wanted to administer mob justice on the said family and rescue the children.

The angry residents demolished the house but did not find the children and the police came to bring order when the residents turned against the law enforcers.

Police tried to control the situation by firing teargas but this did not yield any tangible results.
