Frequent blackouts have for so long been a huge problem in the country to the extent that many businesses collapsed while some are still there but are not earning the same amount of income as before, but with the coming in of a newly-formed Electricity Generation Company (Egenco), Malawian`s have a hope to sing a new song.
Reports indicate that Egenco has started its operations from the fifth floor of Chayamba Building in Blantyre.
Egenco has taken on board William Liabunya, who was Kapichira Hydropower station manager as Chief executive officer while Rex Mhone, Shadric Namalomba and Laben Nsonthi have taken up other managerial positions.
