A teenage girl between 15 – 17 years has been found lying dead in bushes near Zomba prisoner’s cemetery.
The body was found lying in the bushes in the evening hours of yesterday.
The deceased name and her family have not been identified yet as the police are still investigating the matter.
According to the police, it seems the young girl was raped and stripped and the suspect used her own clothes to tie her around the head and later the suspect burnt the tied part (head).
The area is known by the name Namalaka in Zomba which is near prisoner`s cemetery.
As of recent, no suspects have been apprehended but the police are still carrying out their investigations to arrest the suspects as soon as possible.
The body was taken to mortuary at Zomba Hospital.
