The Chancellor College (Chanco) lecturers forced the date for the beginning of classes for the first semester of the 2016/2017 academic year to be shifted to further communication as they strike over a 40 percent disparity in allowances.
The issue in case is the allowance which medical doctors at College of Medicine seem to be favoured as they receive for doubling the tasks of lecturing and working in public hospitals.
Therefore, the Chanco lecturers are asking for the same allowance arguing all of them are lecturers under University of Malawi.
To follow the case, Zodiak Radio on Friday opened a public floor of debate whether Chanco lecturers are in right track.
Some are sided with Chanco lecturers while other are against their decision,however teaching is not a simple task which can require a peanut salary.
