Chief Commissioner of Prisons, MacDonald Chaona has died, the Malawi Prison Service announced on Saturday.
“He died peacefully in his sleep at home in Zomba Friday night,” said Prison Spokesperson, Evance Phiri.
Meanwhile, his body has been taken to College of Medicine where Pathologist Charles Dzamalala will conduct a postmortem to determine the cause of death.
On Friday afternooh he was reportedly fine and was seen at Sanjika palace where he paid last respects to late President Bingu wa Mutharika. On the same note Albert Mungomo’s wife also died after a cardiac arrest. President Bingu Wa Mutharika dies after cardiac arrest on 5th April, 2012. Is this coincidence or is it Malawi’s outbreak??
