National ID Registration Bureau workers threaten to go on strike over poor pay

National IDs registration exercise in under threat following disagreements between National Registration Bureau (NRB) and employees, who have threatened to go on strike over what they are calling meager salaries and poor working conditions.

The workers have given NRB a 4 days ultimatum to resolve the issue.

According to information at hand, the supervisors are receiving K150,000 as allowance while registration officers are getting Mk120,000.

National Registration Bureau (NRB) spokesperson, Norman Fulatira confirmed to have received a 4 days ultimatum from the workers.

Fulatira said NRB is engaging donors who are sponsoring the whole process on how to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile over 30 registration bureau workers have pulled out from the exercise.
