A popular Nigerian evangelist stirred massive excitement in her church recently when she pulled off an unexpected dance move.

The clergywoman tried to twerk like a young lady during church service and this triggered a wild reaction from the congregation.

In a video posted online, reggae music was being played during service and this put Mummy G.O in a dancing mood.

She bursts down low and went to the floor shaking her body to the rhythm of the music which came as an amazing surprise to many.

Popstar Madonna turned 63 years old on Monday, August 16, and had a blast with her family in Italy.

According to Page Six, Madonna was accompanied by her 27-year-old boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams, her kids, and close friends on the trip. Going on Instagram, the singer shared stunning photos of the party enjoying themselves in the beautiful country while donning some colorful attires.

One clip captioned, “Mambo Italiano,” showed Madonna and her kids on a private jet as they headed to the European country and then cut to a shot of the star in an old building approaching the camera and singing: “Happy birthday to me.”

The musician and her party could be seen sitting at a long luxe dinner table as they enjoyed the big day. Madonna was also spotted eating ice cream in the most smutty way assisted by her lover and a friend, as they referred their actions to a “toungue workout”.

Vice President Saulos Chilima has send birthday wishes to veteran musician Lucius Banda who has turned 52 years old.

Chilima who is the president for United Transformation Movement (UTM) thanked God for the life of  Banda who is also the party’s campaign director.

“Our most humble supplications are to God the most merciful for granting us this precious moments top celebrate this special day, the 17 August with you,” said Chilima.

He  added; “May you enjoy this day to the fullest.”

Chilima also prayed for God’s continued blessing of long life full of robust health, happiness, fame and fortune.

On a sad note, South African kwaito star Mshoza, real name Nomasonto Maswanganyi, has died at a Johannesburg hospital, friends said, although the cause of death was yet to be revealed.

Friend Khanyi Mbau wrote on Instagram: “Rest in peace my love. I am tired 2020.”

Fellow musician Tipcee tweeted: “Just received some bad news. Mshoza wamaboza is no more and lapho we were in studio few weeks ago naye euuu kwaze kwabuhlungu.”

The singer got married for a third time to East Rand businessman Prince Dlamini in February this year after her previous marriages collapsed in 2011 and 2017.

She courted controversy after undergoing multiple surgeries – enlarging her breasts, making her lips bigger while also undergoing a nose job and cheekbone alterations.

She also admitted using skin lightening creams to achieve a dramatic, lighter new look.

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has said all is set for the final verification of electoral materials ahead of tomorrow’s by-election.

Sangwani Mwafulirwa, Spokesperson for Malawi Electoral Commission has said that the exercise demonstrates transparency in management of the elections.

Mwafulirwa has since urged all party representatives involved in the process to be present during the exercise.

Meanwhile, George Phiri, one of the country’s political experts with the University Of Livingstonia (UNILIA) has expressed concern over a series of violence reported in some areas where the election will take place.

According to Phiri, it is high time the country started having processes that will portray free and fair elections.

The pollster, Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has removed 53 names of people who were registered to vote in the November 10, 2020 by-elections on suspicion that they are minors.

MEC spokesperson, Sangwani Mwafulirwa has confirmed the development saying this was arrived at following thorough scrutiny of the registered voters roll in conjunction with National Registration Bureau (NRB).

“These 53 people were registered with NRB but their details were not added to NRB’s database because they are suspected to be minors,” he said.

He has however clarified that the 53 were registered by MEC during the registration period as they had all the requirements but after cross-checking with NRB, their details could not be found.

“When we went to check their biometric details with NRB, we were advised that they were quarantined,” Mwafulirwa said.

According to voters’ register,  a total of 2,756 newly registered voters will cast their vote in Karonga Central and Lilongwe North West constituencies and in Makhuwira ward in Chikwawa.

Meanwhile, MEC has closed the campaign period for the by-elections with a call to observe all the electoral rules and regulations among contenders and followers.

Pollster Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has deferred three parliamentary by-elections after it revised the procedures for holding them.

“Only candidates who participated in the 2019 parliamentary elections will be considered eligible to contest in the elections and their status and party affiliations will be maintained,”

MEC Chairperson Justice Chifundo Kachale said in a statement issued Monday.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Chief Technical Advisor, Richard Cox, has urged all election stakeholders to draw lessons from the 2019 nullified election and make sure that such an occurrence never repeats itself in the future.

He says the events after the 2019 elections were a threat to national unity and must be avoided.

The High Court in Blantyre has set 28th October as date it will deliver its verdict on whether or not electoral body, Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) should administer by-elections in Mangochi north east constituency.

In the 2019 polls in Mangochi North East, United Democratic Front’s Idi Kalosi was declared winner with 8,980 of the 23,394 valid votes cast.

However, independent candidate, Martin Sekati who got 7,053 votes challenged the result in court saying the election was marred by irregularities.

The court in its ruling said MEC failed to conduct free and fair elections hence should hold a rerun, an order that was challenged and its ruling will now be in the next four weeks

After months of hearing the electoral case between the First petitioner- Foster Thiphiwa against Rodrick Khumbanyiwa of Chikwawa East Constituency.

Second petitioner – Enock Chizuzu against Esther Mcheka of Nsanje North Constituency.

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has today started registering voters for the 10th November by-elections.

According MEC Chief Elections Officer Sam Alfandika, the registration and verification exercise will run concurrently for 14 days from 14th to 27th September 2020, including Saturdays and Sundays.

The by-elections will be held in Karonga Central, Lilongwe North West, Mangochi West, Mangochi North East, Phalombe North Constituencies and Makhuwira South Ward.

Alfandika said all registration centres will open from 8am up to 4pm all days and will remain operational during lunch time.

He added that those who registered for the Fresh Presidential Election this year need to register again.

“All those who registered for the May 21, 2019 Tripartite Elections need not to register again but just go to the centre where they registered to verify their names in the voters’ roll,” he said.

However, transfers from one constituency to another will not be allowed during the by-elections.

Those eligible to register are Malawians who have attained the age of 18 and above or will attain the voting age on the last day of voter registration which is 27th September, 2020.

Malawi Defense Force (MDF) has said all is set for the inauguration ceremony of President Lazarus Chakwera on July 6.

MDF publicist Lieutenant Colonel Paul Chiphwanya has confirmed of the development which is scheduled to be celebrated together with the country’s Independence Day.

Independence Day celebrations this year will coincide with Chakwera’s inauguration at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe where he will be handed the sword of command as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.

It is not clear if immediate-past President Peter Mutharika will attend the event which in the past, out-going presidents have shunned.

Chakwera was sworn in as Malawi’s president on June 28 together with his vice president Saulos Chilima after winning June 23 fresh presidential elections.

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has said it is conducting an audit to determine what led to its loss in the fresh presidential elections on June 23.

In te court sanctioned presidential elections DPP trailed behind Tonse Alliance whose presidential candidate was Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera.

The DPP lost miserably to the Tonse Alliance after amassing 58.5 percent of the votes against its 39 percent of the total votes cast.

Critics cite increased cases of corruption and non-adherence to the rule of law as factors that led to the downfall of the party.

DPP Vice President for the Southern Region Kondwani Nankhumwa assures the party supporters that they will bounce back in power.
