PRAYER TO GIVE THANKS FOR A NEW DAY

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)

Offering a morning prayer of thanks is an incredible way to start the day. God, the giver of life, allows each of us to wake up to new excitements and beauties each day, so it’s important that we turn to Him and offer up our gratitude.

Thanking the Lord in the morning is also a method of keeping our perspective fixed on what truly matters. Gratitude is a powerful reminder of all we have — and of the eternal love God gives us. Here’s an example of a morning prayer to give thanks for a new day:

Dear Lord, thank you for allowing me to awake to yet another beautiful day. I am grateful for the beauty of the sun and Your other creations. Despite sometimes forgetting to proclaim my thanks, I am overjoyed by the wonders around me. Thank you for my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. causing profuse bleeding

A PRAYER FOR STRENGTH TO ENDURE

Dear Lord,

I am weary and don’t know when this “race” will end in my life. I feel like I’ve been running forever, trying to outrun this trial. Help me to stop trying to outrun my pain but rather run with endurance the race you have set before me.

I know that because of you I am ultimately a victor over the trials in my life. I know that nothing in this world can separate me from your steadfast love.

Please give me a measure of your love today; give me the strength to endure this trial. Thank you for your love for me that never ends! And thank you for the crown of joy that awaits me forever in your Kingdom!

PRAYERS FOR STRENGTH AND COURAGE

The testimony of King David was that the living God was his source of strength and courage. In Psalm 18 verse 1 we read “I love you, God— you make me strong. God is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight” (The Message). And when St Paul writes to the Corinthian church, he declares that “…when I am weak, then I am strong”.

Here is an important truth. All of us have things that we struggle with and things that at times seem to overwhelm us. These are the areas of our lives where we can invite the living God to inhabit us with His strength and power. Further down this page are prayers that you say to help you discover God’s strength when grieving, in times of sickness, when in need of guidance, and various inspirational scriptures and prayers in the bible about God’s strength.

Dear Lord,

I come before you and ask for Your strength within me.
A strength not of the world but of Your kingdom.
To refrain from judgement and feast on love.
To push out greed and hold tight to joy.
To dispel pride and rise with humility.
To quell anger and rest in self control.
To shun greed and rest in giving.
To turn from power and embrace service.
To let go of resentment and rest in peace.
To push through fear and walk forwards in grace.
To run with faith, soar with forgiveness,
And allow your eternal strength to abide with me.

A PRAYER FOR GRATITUDE

We should be thankful because God is worthy of our thanksgiving. It is only right to credit Him for “every good and perfect gift” He gives (James 1:17). When we are thankful, our focus moves off selfish desires and off the pain of current circumstances. It also helps us to remember that God is ultimately in control. Beginning each morning with gratitude will provide you with a great foundation. Prayer is one of the intentional ways you can cultivate a grateful heart for yourself. Start your day off with this prayer for gratitude:

Dear God, I thank you for waking me up today. You have given me another sunrise to enjoy. Thank you for the wonderful sounds of nature and the cool breeze brushing through the trees making the birds sing beautiful melodies. I praise You, Father, for allowing me to live another beautiful day in Your Kingdom. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

A PRAYER FOR CONTENTMENT

Contentment is a simple grace. It is certainly reasonable and logical. It is our Father’s world, so we should rest in His care. While many of us desire to be content, it is not easily attained or kept. For, no sooner than we begin to enjoy the grace of contentment, it is gone and dissatisfaction returns. Start your day off with the prayer for contentment:

Dear God, I pray that I will stay focused on You today. I pray that You will constantly remind me to be content in all of my circumstances. I pray that You will fill me up that I may be joyful all day, even if stress creeps in. I know that through my contentment, You will be glorified. I want to honor You, Father, in all that I do.

OUR MORNING PRAYER FOR TODAY

Please, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day.
When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going.

Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don’t go my way.

And give me courage to do whatever needs to be done.

OUR MORNING PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear Lord,

I don’t know who or what will cross my path today. But I do know that You are my Rock and my Fortress. You are my Shield and my Strong Tower. Help me to anchor myself to You today.

Teach me how to stand strong in You and choose only Your way today.

Help me walk by Your truth and not my feelings. Help me to embrace anything that comes my way as an opportunity to see You at work and as an opportunity to point others to You.
Thank You that You love me and nothing can ever take that away from me! Even if I fail today and fall short, You whisper Your unconditional love deep into my soul and remind me that Your mercies are new every morning. That truly amazes me, Lord.
Thank You for meeting with me today.

Would You wake me again tomorrow with the same sweet whisper of Your love? I can’t wait to meet with You again.

OUR PRAYER FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION

Dear God,

I come to You today, bowing in my heart, asking for protection from the evil one. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind.

Surround us with Your divine hedge of protection. Encompass us roundabout with Your strength and Your might.

Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy. And may You shelter us, that those who love Your name may exult in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12)

Lord, I ask that You protect our minds. Father, the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

(Romans 8:6) O God, set our minds on You. Let us not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds that we may prove what Your will is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2) Help us by the power of Your Spirit to think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let our minds dwell on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

OUR MORNING PRAYER FOR HEALING AND GRACE

Dear God,

We confess our need for you today. We need your healing and your grace. We need hope restored.

We need to be reminded that you work on behalf of those you love, constantly, powerfully, completely. Forgive us for trying to fix our situations all on our own.

Forgive us for running all different directions and spinning our wheels to find help, when true help and healing must be found first in You.

Forgive us for forgetting how much we need you, above everyone and everything else. We come to you and bring you the places we are hurting.

You see where no one else is able to fully see or understand. You know the pain we’ve carried. The burdens. The cares.

You know where we need to be set free. We ask for your healing and grace to cover every broken place. Every wound. Every heartache.

Thank you that you are Able to do far more than we could ever imagine. Thank you for your Mighty Power that acts on behalf of your children.

We reach out to you, and know that you are restoring and redeeming every place of difficulty, every battle, for your greater glory. Thank you that you will never waste our pain and suffering. We love you. We need you today.

LORD, OPEN THE FLOODGATES OF HEAVEN, AND BLESS YOUR PEOPLE TODAY

Lord, Your name is Yahweh. Your name is El Shaddai. You are the Sovereign God. The great Amen. The undefeated one. The Alfa and Omega, the Beginning and the End. The Commander of the Armies. The one who is the Consuming Fire. The one who is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. My God, You are the All-sufficient, All-knowing, Omni-Potent, Covenant-Keeping God.

My Father, my God, stretch out your hand and intervene in Your people’s lives today! Open the floodgates of Heaven and release blessings. Lord, release their healings today, resuscitate their finances, Abba Father. Shield Your people today. Drive away all their enemies, Mighty God.

Lord, as Your humble servant, I plead on their behalf, have mercy on them, in the name of Jesus Christ! Please send Your Holy Spirit to resurrect those dead situations in Your people’s lives. Breathe unto their bank accounts to restore their finances, Breathe unto their marriages to restore those covenants, Breathe unto their dry bones to resuscitate their health.

Mighty God, You know them by name. Show forth in their lives today. Let them see Your hand in their lives. Let Your name be glorified in the name of Jesus Christ!Father, let Your will prevail today. Lord Jesus, You are a faithful God, let Your Holy Spirit invade their lives today. Thank you for your mercy today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

MORNING PRAYER FOR STRENGTH TO TACKLE THE DAY

Life can get complicated. Various trials, tribulations and even victories — can leave us looking for strength. When it comes to powerful morning prayers for starting each day, a prayer to God for strength to tackle the day is essential.

It’s important to simply ask God to guide us, sustain us and give us the spiritual, physical and emotional power to get through each day. It’s amazing what a prayer like this can do to keep people focused and prepared for whatever comes their way.

Prayer;

Dear Lord, I don’t know what lay before me today, but I commit it all to you. Please give me strength and courage to get through the joys, challenges and happenings of the day. I thank you for my life and for all that I have; I commit this day to you. No matter what happens, I know you have me in the palm of your hand. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

PRAYER FOR PERSONAL HEALING

God, you know me so well. You created me. You know the number of hairs on my head, and you even know the thoughts conceived in my heart before I ever vocalize them. You’ve told us to come to you and ask for every need of life. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and you have the final word on my destiny, the number of years I’ll live and serve you on earth.

I’m coming to you today as your child, longing to hear from you and asking for your divine healing. There’s so much I don’t understand about life. But I do know that with one touch, one word, you can make me whole. Please forgive me of my sins, cleanse me of my unrighteousness, and begin your healing from the inside out.

I don’t always know what your will is Lord, especially in times like now, when I desperately seek your face. I offer you no promises, no bargains, no deals to exchange for my health. I simply bow my heart before you to tell you the desire of my heart: that I want to spend as many years as I can loving you here, loving others, and wanting to become more like you. However you choose to accomplish that is up to you—and okay with me. If you use doctors to provide healing, give them wisdom to know what to do.

Regardless of how you accomplish it, the healing you give is always miraculous. And you deserve all the praise.

I absolutely believe you have the power to heal. You demonstrated that on earth, and you still heal in miraculous ways today. Even when my faith is weak, you say it is enough, and my love for you is strong. And I know you already hold my heart and life in your hands. It’s up to you. If I can bring you more glory through healing, then that’s what I ask for. That’s what I desire.

But if your answer is no, or not now, I know that your grace is sufficient for me. Ultimately, I want your will to be my will. I look forward to spending an eternity with you. But Lord, if you have planned still more for me to do here on this earth, I not only need and want your physical healing, Lord, but a thorough, deep-down cleansing and strengthening—a whole-hearted renewal of all that I am. Because all that I am is yours. Use this trial to strengthen me from a “what-if” faith to a “no-matter-what” faith. And no matter what, I choose to honor you and give you glory.

FRIDAY MORNING PRAYER

MORNING PRAYER

Dear Lord,

Father, my heart is heavy. I feel like I have to carry the burden alone.

Words like overwhelmed, distraught, exhausted seem to describe where I am.

I am not sure how to let you carry my heavy load, so please show me how.

Take it from me. Let me rest and be refreshed so that my heart won’t be so heavy in the morning.

I pray that today I may be quick to praise You in all I say and do and slow to criticise. I pray that I may be quick to encourage others rather than complain.

I pray that I may be slow to get angry or discouraged and may I have a heart that is quick to forgive and not criticise or condemn. And God, I pray that I may also be generous in my giving and not selfish with the things that are mine.

Grant me today to be a real encouragement to all I meet and help me to keep my tongue from any foolish words which might hurt or discourage – and thank You for the life that You have given me today, may today bring honour to Your name,

STRENGTH TO LIVE A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD

Dear Lord,

Help me Lord to wake each morning with the eyes of my heart looking to Jesus and the thoughts of my mind to be focused on You.

I pray that I may hand over all the duties of the day into Your hands so that Your hand is leading and guiding in all the decisions that I make.

Enable me to approach the day with an eagerness to do those things that are pleasing to You; a willingness to tackle the difficulties that may cross my path today and wisdom to speak the truth in love.

Give me patience with all I may meet today; keep me from foolish words and may I exhibit self-control and wisdom in all the necessities and needs that I may encounter as the day progresses.
And keep me in perfect peace throughout today as my mind is kept stayed on You,

Dear Lord,

There is no circumstance greater than You, Lord.

Let every eye that reads this know that there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than You, Lord.

1 John 4:4 – You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.

Father, in the Name of my Redeemer Christ Jesus, hear my prayer.
