A father has killed seven of his children and an unrelated child in the US city of Shreveport, Louisiana, in what police have described as a “domestic disturbance” mass shooting.

Officers said the shooting began at about 05:00 (10:00 GMT) on Sunday.

After attacking the children at a residence, the suspect drove away in a stolen car, police said. Officers later pursued and fatally shot him.

Two adult women, including the children’s mother, are in critical condition after also being injured by gunfire.

A ninth child was taken to hospital after escaping by jumping from the roof of the home.

The suspect has been identified as Shamar Elkins, according to the Shreveport mayor’s communications director.

American rapper, Offset was reportedly shot in the leg during an attempted robbery outside a casino in Miami.

According to Federal Bureau of Investigation officials, a large group confronted him around 7:24 p.m. on April 6.

During the altercation, one suspect fired a handgun, injuring the rapper before the group tried unsuccessfully to take his watch.

The suspects then fled the scene in two vehicles, described as a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and a black Chevrolet Suburban.

Investigators believe the Suburban headed toward Hollywood, while the Tahoe traveled south toward Miami.

Authorities have released images of the suspects and vehicles and are asking the public to provide any information related to the case.

American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, turned himself in on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, to begin serving a three-month (90-day) jail sentence at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn for violating the terms of his supervised release.

He arrived at the federal facility in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, at the prearranged surrender time of 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

The sentence stems from probation violations tied to incidents following his earlier federal racketeering case.

The Brooklyn detention center currently houses high-profile detainees including Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Luigi Mangione.

The United States has launched airstrikes targeting ISIS-linked militants in northwest Nigeria, President Donald Trump has announced.

Hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in federal custody longer than initially expected.

Federal inmate records indicate that Combs’ release date has been pushed from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, according to PEOPLE. Officials have not confirmed the reason for the delay, but it comes after reports that the Bad Boy Records founder allegedly broke several prison rules.

Shortly after arriving at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, TMZ reported that Combs was caught drinking homemade alcohol, reportedly brewed from Fanta, sugar, and apples. His spokesperson denied the allegation, stating that Combs is committed to sobriety.

More recently, CBS News reported that Combs participated in a three-way phone call, which is generally prohibited. While authorities considered restricting his phone privileges, his representative insisted he did not violate official policies.

USA – A 22-year-old Florida man, Daniel Waterman, reportedly awoke from a months-long coma to accuse his pregnant girlfriend, Leigha Mumby, of deliberately crashing their car into a tree during an argument earlier this year.

The February 2025 crash left Waterman critically injured and Mumby with minor wounds.

Investigators say the altercation began after Mumby discovered she was pregnant and allegedly saw a message from another woman on Waterman’s phone.

Waterman briefly regained consciousness before his death on October 8, 2025, and told authorities Mumby had intentionally caused the crash.

His statement has since become key evidence in the case, leading prosecutors to upgrade the charges against Mumby to vehicular homicide.

Waterman’s family says they are now seeking custody of the unborn child and justice in his memory.

A 41-year-old woman has died following a shooting that occurred after a brief altercation over a simple act of courtesy at a shopping center in southwest Dallas, Texas.

According to police and court documents, the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when the victim, identified as Cecilia Simpson, became upset with another woman, Keona Hampton, 22, for not saying “thank you” after she held the door open for her.

Dallas Police say the two women exchanged words before the argument escalated. A witness told investigators that Simpson, along with another woman, later saw Hampton again at a nearby store within the same shopping complex. The confrontation reportedly resumed inside the store, prompting employees to ask both women to leave.

The situation turned violent outside in the parking lot, where Hampton allegedly threw a bottle at Simpson’s vehicle. Simpson confronted her, and a physical fight broke out. The witness told detectives she tried to intervene, hitting Hampton several times before stepping away. Hampton then allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at Simpson.

Simpson was rushed to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Police say cellphone footage captured the altercation and the sound of gunshots. Surveillance cameras also showed Hampton leaving the scene with a firearm. Later that day, officers traced her vehicle to an apartment complex in Dallas and arrested her during a traffic stop.

According to the affidavit, Hampton admitted to shooting Simpson, claiming she did so to “get her away” during the fight. She has been charged with murder and is currently being held without bond at the Dallas County Jail.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether Hampton has legal representation.

A British man has been found dead in Dubai after reportedly ingesting several packages of cocaine, one of which is believed to have burst inside his stomach.

The deceased, identified as 20-year-old Jensen Westhead, had allegedly swallowed the drug packets before boarding a flight from Manchester Airport to the United Arab Emirates.

Authorities suspect that one of the packets ruptured internally, causing a fatal overdose.
Westhead’s body was discovered at the Hotel Avalon in Dubai on December 4, 2024.

His sudden and tragic death triggered a full investigation into possible drug trafficking and related criminal activity.

Following inquiries, four individuals have been charged in connection with the case.
The accused have been named as Rebecca Hatch, Glenn Hatch, Alexander Tofton, and Steven Stephenson.

They face charges of conspiracy to fraudulently evade the prohibition on the exportation of a Class A drug.

Additionally, Steven Stephenson is facing further charges linked to the alleged supply of cocaine.

The four defendants are expected to appear before Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on October 31, 2025, where the charges will be formally presented.

Dubai is known for its extremely strict drug laws, with even minor possession potentially leading to severe penalties, including lengthy prison terms or, in extreme cases, the death penalty.

Renowned hip-hop producer Metro Boomin has gone on trial in California over allegations that he sexually assaulted Vanessa LeMaistre in 2016. The civil case opened Tuesday (Sept. 23) at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building and United States Courthouse in Los Angeles.

LeMaistre, who filed her lawsuit last year, testified that she decided to pursue justice after a therapy session in Peru, where she consumed the psychedelic plant Ayahuasca.

“I recall being instructed from the medicine that this is the root of your issues for the past 10 years, this incident with the defendant,” she told the jury. “This is the root of continual trauma and pain and suffering, and that I needed to address this, seek justice and contact lawyers.”

According to LeMaistre, Metro Boomin allegedly gave her half a Xanax pill and a shot of liquor before having sex with her in a Las Vegas hotel room while she was unconscious. “I didn’t know consent means when someone says no or they’re not able to consent, that that still is rape,” she said in court.

Metro Boomin’s attorney, Lawrence Hinkle, dismissed the claims, characterizing the lawsuit as financially motivated. “We are here because she thought my client could solve her financial problems,” Hinkle argued. “And so she made a claim that he sexually assaulted her, expecting that he would just write a check to make it all go away quickly and quietly.”

Hinkle said UCLA psychology chief April Thames is expected to testify that LeMaistre meets diagnostic criteria for borderline personality disorder with psychotic features, major depressive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder  but that there is “no credible evidence” linking her current psychological state to the alleged assault.

Metro Boomin is also expected to testify during the trial, which is anticipated to conclude on Friday, Sept. 26.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has identified the severely decomposed and dismembered body found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, a teenager who had been missing since April from Lake Elsinore, California.

The confirmation, made within the last 24 hours, comes after police had been working vigorously to identify the victim, who was described only as a 5’1″, 71-pound female with wavy black hair and a distinctive “Shhh…” tattoo on her right index finger.

The investigation took a series of bizarre and troubling turns as connections between the victim and the vehicle’s owner, the artist D4vd (real name David), began to surface.

A particularly striking detail is the matching tattoos. Both the victim, Celeste Rivas, and the singer D4vd have the identical “Shhh…” tattoo on their right index fingers. This discovery adds a layer of personal connection between the suspect and the deceased.

Furthermore, the victim’s mother confirmed to authorities that her daughter had a boyfriend named David.

Adding to the unsettling narrative, a previously leaked song by D4vd has resurfaced, in which the singer professes a haunting obsession with someone named Celeste. The lyrics include the lines:

“Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest”

Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes”

“I’m obsessed.”

“Oh, Celeste / Afraid you’ll only love me when undressed”

“Missing you so much makes me depressed”

The explicit mention of the name “Celeste” and themes of obsession have drawn significant attention from Netzens who are now connecting dots.

The grim discovery was made at a Hollywood impound lot. The Tesla had been towed there after being found abandoned in the Hollywood Hills. It was during an inventory of the vehicle that authorities found the body parts in the trunk. Police emphasized that the car, registered to D4vd, was never reported stolen.

D4vd, a rising star known for hits like “Romantic Homicide,” has not been publicly named as a suspect by the Los Angeles Police Department. However, the combination of owning the car where the body was found, the matching tattoos, the musical lyrics, and the confirmed relationship has placed him squarely at the center of a rapidly developing investigation.

The L.A. County Medical Examiner has yet to determine a cause of death, and the legal next of kin notification is still formally pending. No arrests have been announced as the investigation continues

Tyler Robinson, 22, made his first court appearance virtually on September 16 after being arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10.

He appeared via video in a Utah County courtroom, showing little emotion as Fourth District Court Judge Tony Graf Jr. read the charges against him.

Robinson only spoke to confirm his name and appeared to nod when told he would remain in jail without bail. He has not yet been assigned legal representation.

Prosecutors from the Utah County Attorney’s Office announced that Robinson is charged with aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and other related offenses.

They also confirmed plans to seek the death penalty in the case. Judge Graf issued a protective order for Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, prohibiting Robinson from contacting her.

Violating the order could result in additional charges.
