Is She Crazy? Iowa Witch Nabbed For Torching Stranger’s Porch After No One Answers Door

A self-described “witch” set fire to a stranger’s front porch in Iowa after they failed to answer her three knocks at the door.

The woman identified as Michelle Young, who sported a massive grin and wild hair in her mugshot, was arrested on Tuesday and allegedly told investigators she was under the impression her friend lived at the Iowa home when she ignited the blaze around 4:30 p.m.

The 46-year-old was still standing on the burning porch when firefighters arrived, fortunately in time to extinguish the flames with minimal damage to the property.

She readily admitted to setting the fire, telling cops she had scooped up “miscellaneous items” to ignite while on a two-hour walk around the neighborhood, cops said.

Young told officers she was a “witch” and had observed a sign that said, “Witches Welcome” on the porch.

She had knocked on the door three times before stopping to smoke a cigarette on the porch before knocking once more, Young allegedly told investigators.

That’s when she started burning clothing and other items and the entire act was caught on the homeowner’s security camera.

“The resident said she did not know the woman and had never seen her before.

She claimed she had no intention of hurting anyone or letting the fire grow out of control.

Michelle Young will soon appear in court to answer charges leveled against her.

The video has since garnered significant attention online, with netizens expressing both concern and fascination over the boy’s condition.

As he is being attended in the hospital, the boy’s well-being remains at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts and prayers.

Heart-breaking Tale Of The Woman Growing Horns Out Of Her Head

Somewhat this looks like a normal photograph but the scare in the children’s faces tells a different tale.

The woman pictured above is identified as Mimiya Bai, a 60-year-old woman from India. 3 years ago, horns started to grow out of her head; leaving the helpless woman in unbearable pain.

Scared, she would plead with everyone about her condition but no one dared to give her an ear. Until they saw for themselves horn-like features protruding out of her head.

A rare condition that was even beyond the most skilled doctors ‘books’.

That they had to research on Mimiya’s rare condition on YouTube.

And after futile attempts to grasp the nature of the treatment the ailment required, they referred her to further consult with senior doctors in the medical field.

According to Dr Ahbisheck, the 60-year-old’s rare disease is known as siliceous horn.

It could attach itself to any part of the body; curable and treatable via surgery.

But it can be costly and poor Mimiya is appealing to the public for financial help so she could pursue the treatment the disease demands.

Her interview excerpt with New Indian read, “I’m suffering from pain. I hope God gets rid of this disease and also to get rid of this helpless suffering.

For the past 3 years I have faced physical and mental pain but no one was willing to give me an ear. I’m upset with myself and the people I tried reaching out for help”.

However, it is evident that with money miracles could happen. That may be the reason prayers and deliverance sold in churches.

13-year-old girl allegedly commits suicide over pencil

A thirteen-year-old girl, identified only as Patricia, has allegedly committed suicide over a misunderstanding she had with her younger brother over a pencil.

According to DailyGuidenetwork, the deceased reportedly hanged herself on a rope in her parents’ bedroom at New Abirem in the Birim North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The mother of the deceased is quoted to have said she heard the squabble between her kids and run to intervene.

She then took the younger brother outside to enable her to resolve the feud.

By the time the mother returned, the 13-year-old girl had hanged herself in the room with a rope.

Eyewitnesses who rushed to the scene said they saw blood stains oozing from her nose.

The incident was then reported to the Police who later stormed the community to convey the body to a certain morgue as investigations are underway to unravel what triggered the little girl to commit such an act.

Funerals ceremonies are generally meant to give a loved one proper send-off into the spiritual world. Different communities have different ways in which they conduct their funeral rituals.

In this article, we are going to review some of the most bizarre rituals that some communities do, which prove to be scary.

Note that some of these rituals have been long abandoned.

Eating the dead

The ancient Melanesians of Papua New Guinea and the Wari people of Brazil literally feast on their dead relatives. Otherwise known as endocannibalism.

According to their repulsing ritual, eating a dead relatives was a gesture of honor to the departed.

It also signified expelling of fear and mystery that surrounds the concept of death.

Some of these communities still practice the ritual to date.

Body exhumation for a dance

The people of Malagasy tribe in the island of Madagascar found in the Indian Ocean exhume their dead relatives every after 7 years in a ceremony called “Famadihana” which means the turning of the ancestors’ bones.

During the peculiar event, relatives of the dead would exhume the remains, wrap them in new and clean clothes, and dance with them around the grave before re-entombing them.

Sleeping with the dead

The Toraja people form an ethnic group indigenous to the mountainous Pangala region of Indonesia’s South Sulawesi, about 800 km northeast of Bali.

The group, which mainly consists of Christian – mostly protestant, but also Catholic treat the dead as merely sick and not actually dead.

To them, they accept death as part of life’s journey, and when a family member passes away, in accordance with their traditional religion called “Aluk To Dolo” which means “a way of the ancestors”, they treat them as if they are sick “toma kula”.

Food, water and even cigarettes are offered to the dead on a daily basis, because it is believed the spirit remains near the body.

This ritual would go on until the funeral is scheduled, which may take several years to come if not decades.

Their burial ceremonies are always expensive. Perhaps that is why they take decades sourcing funds.

Finger amputation

The Dani people of Papua New Guinea amputated their women and children’s fingers whenever a relative died.

According to their uncanny ritual, doing so was a way of driving away evil spirits.

Thankfully, the practice is now officially banned!

Burying the dead in sited positions.

The Abashuu clan which forms part of the Akabarasi subtribe of Luhya community from Western Kenya used to bury their people in a sited posture.

When a prominent member in the clan like an elder or a chief died, their body would be buried in a grass-thatched shanty specifically erected for the dead man in his compound, or even buried in their family houses.

During this burial, the body was placed in a shallow grave in a sitting posture and covered with soil up to the neck leaving the head sticking out in the open.

The head would then be covered with a special hat in the shape of a pot.

The widow, or a medicine man in the clan would occasionally lift the hat and anoint the head with special herbs meant to kill the stench.

This would go on until the entire body decomposed.

Feasting the dead on scavengers

Natives of Tibet and Chinese provinces cast their dead relatives in the open to allow scavengers like vultures to feast on them in what is known as sky burials.

Sometimes the bodies are cut into pieces and left on a hill for the scavengers.

Japan launches booze booster competition to push youth to drink more alcohol

Japan has kicked off a national contest encouraging young people to drink to help boost the economy.

The New York Times reported after two years of lockdown restrictions, Japan’s National Tax Agency launched its contest calling for 20 to 39-year-olds to share their ideas to boost alcohol consumption.

The agency said they hope the campaign known as ‘Sake Viva’ will help revitalise the alcohol industry.

The National Tax Agency also shared that drinking had become less frequent amongst the younger generation due to the pandemic – something they hope to reverse while prompting alcohol sales.

The tax authority’s campaign website states: “The domestic alcoholic beverage market is shrinking due to demographic changes such as the declining birth rate and ageing population, and lifestyle changes due to the impact of the new coronavirus infection.”

According to the agency, Japan’s yearly alcohol consumption had decreased from 100 litres per person in 1995 to 75 litres in 2020.

Inevitably, this has hurt the Japanese economy, with alcohol only attributing to only 1.7 per cent of the tax revenue in 2020, down from three per cent in 2011 and five in 1980, as per Japan Times.

A spokesperson for the agency said at the time: “As working from home made strides to a certain extent during the COVID-19 crisis, many people may have come to question whether they need to continue the habit of drinking with colleagues to deepen communication.

“If the ‘new normal’ takes root, that will be an additional headwind for tax revenue.”

While the government has assured they will not encourage ‘drinking in excess’, the controversial campaign has attracted a wealth of criticism from the public.

Bartender Suzumo Sakurai slammed the idea as ‘terrible’ via CBS News.

He added: “It’s like trying to get people to smoke more.”

Many also took to Twitter to voice their concern as one person slammed the government for its inappropriate message.

One person wrote: “Revenue from alcohol sales is decreasing in Japan, so the government is paying for the ‘Sake Viva!’ campaign to ‘stimulate demand among young people’ to drink alcohol. The younger generation in Japan are just too smart to drink a lot & the government doesn’t like it one bit.”

While another said: “Mind-boggling News from Japan.”

Girl, 15, injects herself with boyfriend’s HIV-positive blood “to prove her love”

A 15-year-old girl has put her life on the line to prove her love to her HIV-positive boyfriend by injecting herself with his blood.

This bizarre incident happened in Suwal Kuchchi, a village in Assam, India where the teenager resides.

It is reported that the unnamed girl infused her boyfriend’s blood into her body, being fully aware that he had contracted the virus.

Apparently, the girl and her HIV-positive boy, from the town of Hajo, met on Facebook and had been dating for about three years.

On many occasions, he had tried to run away with his sweetheart, but the girl’s parents had tracked them and brought her back home.

Instead of running away over and again, this time the 15-year-old devised a way of affirming her love for him.

Reports say she allegedly used a syringe to inject herself with his HIV-infected blood, knowing the danger of her actions.

It’s not known if the boy was aware of the teenagers intentions.

But Police in Hajo has already detained the girl’s boyfriend after her parents have filed a complaint against him.

Meanwhile, the girl is currently being monitored by doctors.

Pastor Seth, she claimed, had never loved her or shown her love since their marriage.

Felicia claims that the pastor has mistreated her on several occasions, but she has remained silent in order to protect her marriage.
