Govt. doubts Kapito’s death threat claim, says he’s seeking attention

Speaking in an interview monitored on Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS), Mussa wondered why Kapito decided to “take his questionable death threat claims” to the media.

“Kapito’s claims are questionable. Some of these things are not true. Why did he not report to police and give us the numbers of those who issued the death threats?

“If he has concrete evidence, he should go to police. We’ve a skilled intelligence unit which can trace everyone’s number wherever they are,” said Mussa.

He claimed that Kapito always make “unnecessary noise” through the media to get public attention on petty issues.

“If anything, Mr. Kapito should’ve been the first to praise the current administration for the progress we’ve made so far. You know how the economy was and how things have changed now,” he added.

Kapito, who  has accused Pres. Joyce Banda of creating “artificial” maize shortage in the country, says he didn’t report the matter because police have never assisted him.
