GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have the following:

MSCE/or equivalent certificate with at least four credits including English
Diploma from the University of Malawi or a relevant diploma from an institution accredited by the University of Malawi
A minimum of two years working experience in a field related to the desired programme.

*SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

a. Those applying for Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Extension must also meet the following requirements, in addition to the above;
i. Applicant’s current employer must be willing to give the employee study leave
ii. Applicant’s current employer must be willing to take their employee on attachment, during vacation, whilst pursuing their studies
iii. Applicant’s current employer must be willing to assist in co-supervising the student with staff from the College.

b. Those applying for Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine should have A-level passes in Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics (or equivalent).

OR be university students, studying biological sciences, who have completed at least first year or those that have completed the Premed qualifying year at any Medical University/College and have passed Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

OR should have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.

OR should have a Diploma in Veterinary Sciences/Medicine plus O-level credit passes in at least four of the following subjects:

English, Physical Science/Physics, Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Mathematics

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for Master of Science programmes must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture or any relevant field from a recognized training institution. All programmes are for 2 years except for Postgraduate Diploma Courses which are for one year. Those applying for PhD programmes must have a relevant Masters degree. The PhD programmes are for a period of 3 – 4 years.

C. FEES REQUIREMENTS:

a. Application fees for all programmes is K4,500.00 (Nationals) and US$ 300.00 (Foreigners)
b. Tuition fees for all Mature entry programmes is MK300,000.00 per academic year
c. Tuition fees for all Master of Science programmes is US $2700.00 per academic year
d. Tuition fees for all PhD programmes is US $4000.00 per academic year
e. Accommodation (limited space available for masters and PhD students) in shared flats at K15,000.00 per month i.e there is no accommodation for mature entry students
f. Medical fee for all students/programmes (mandatory) K10,200.00 per academic year

g. Students Union membership (mandatory) K2400.00 per academic year

NOTE:

i. All applications MUST be accompanied with copies of certificates, application fee bank deposit receipts and academic transcripts.
