“It is not four who died, it’s only one,” Kunkuyu defends his ‘suicidal’ campaign strategy

Minister of tourism, Moses Kunkuyu, who has abandoned his Blantyre City South constituency to take a leap in Dedza for the Dedza south constituency that was previously held by veteran politician, John Tembo, has come out to clear the news that his campaign strategy had caused the death of four people.

In a Facebook post, the youthful parliamentarian indicated that an accident had happened of course and a life had been claimed from the accident but it was not four lives as it had been put forward. According to him, it was only a single life that was lost.

Kunkuyu said that it was the wild celebrations of the people that could not be contained which saw to it that the accident happened. He said that the people had gone opposite to advice that they should not be closer to the truck that was carrying the ambulance but most of them did not and eventually were hit when the truck carrying the ambulance overturned.

According to Kunkuyu, 16 people sustained serious injuries while 13 were treated as outpatients.
