GOVT FORCES CHEWA CHIEF GAWA UNDI TO CANCEL HIS TRIP TO MALAWI

Drama locks the trip of Chewa chief, His Majesty Kalonga Gawa Undi to Malawi as the government has asked the Chief to reschedule his visit to a later date.

The Chief was expected to be in the country from 9th to 27th September, 2015 but he has failed to do so.

Minister of Local Government Kondwani Nankhumwa confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the privately owned radio [Zodiak Broadcasting Station].

Nankhumwa said the decision to cancel the trip was made because government was not aware of his visit.

According to Nankhumwa, the chief could have first informed the government before communicating to the Chewa Heritage foundation in the country of his coming.

Meanwhile Nankhumwa has assured the Chewa groupings in the country that their Chief will soon be visiting the country.
