Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Soldier is reported dead while seven others sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling in overturned following a left rear tyre burst at Nkhande along the Dedza- Ntcheu M1 Road on Monday.
Ntcheu Police Public Relations Officer Gift Matewere confirmed of the accident in an interview with the Press and identified the deceased as Staff Sergeant Bruno Nkhaya, 37.
According to Matewere, the MDF bus registration number MDF 1455 was travelling from Lilongwe to Blantyre and had eight MDF officers on board.
Postmortem conducted at Ntcheu District Hospital revealed that Nkhaya died due to internal injuries.
Nkhaya hails from Likuni Village in the area of Chief Malili in Lilongwe.
