Saint Patrick’s Seminary Alumni donates minibus to former school

On Saturday March 18, 2017 Saint Patrick’s Seminary alumni donated a minibus worth 9 million Malawi Kwacha to their former school – Saint Patrick’s Minor Seminary – in Rumphi.

The donation was part of the commemoration of Saint Patrick’s Day which falls on March 17 every year.

Speaking to the press after receiving the donation, Bishop of Mzuzu Diocese John Ryan said the donation has come at the right time.

“This bus has come at the right time as it would assist students in a number of ways but I ask you to remain humble, persevere the challenges by sticking to prayer because this will help you concentrate on your studies to do well in future,” he said.

On his part, St.Patrick’s Seminary Foundation Board Chairman Francis Nobert Gondwe said as former students, they want to assist their school in its fight against transport challenges.

It has taken the alumni one year and three months of fundraising activities to purchase the minibus.
