Govt distances itself from reports that it is recruiting and training Health Surveillance Assistants

The Ministry of Health has dismissed media reports that the Ministry intends to train and recruit Health Surveillance Assistants – HSA’s under sponsored programmes.

The social media is awashed with an advert that the Ministry of Health is intending to train and recruit health surveillance assistants (HSAs) based in all health centres.

According to information at hand, interested candidates need to have a pass in English and any two passes in science subject(biology, agriculture,biology,mathematics ,physical science and geography.(two of the subjects must be a pass).

Closing date for the said vacancy is 28 July 2017.

“Request your application form in writing to this address Center for Disease Control and Prevention Malawi, post office box 3024,Lilongwe 3. Or you can also request the form through this email cdcmalawi@gmail.com.

“Deadline for receiving filled application form is 28 July 2017, any application received above due date will not be processed. written entrance examination will be adiministered in all district hospitals on Monday 3 August 2017, those who will not submit application form will not be allowed to attend entrance examination,” reads in part the statement.

But reacting to the advert, Spokesperson for the Ministry, Adrian Chikumbe quashed it saying its untrue.

Chikumbe has advised Malawians to verify with relevant authorities concerning recruitments.

He added that many job seekers have lost money through bogus adverts.
