A 47-year-old man who was working for Mota Engil has committed suicide in the area of Traditional Authority Chimwala in Mangochi.

The district’s deputy police spokesperson Amina Daudi has identified the deceased as M’madi Anusa.

According to Daudi, the deceased was found hanging to a mango tree on Monday after he had gone to seek his salary the previous day at Mangochi Boma.

He was rushed to Mangochi district Hospital where an autopsy revealed the cause of the death as suffocation.

No foul play was suspected.

Meanwhile, the reason behind the act is still not known despite the police inquiring more information from relatives.

He hailed from Mangochi in Changamire village under Traditional Authority Chimwala.

Police are still advising the general public to seek other ways of solving their problems rather than committing suicide.
