MCP MP Lunguzi demands police action on DPP Cadet Jomo Osman for attacking party member

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for Dedza East Juliana Lunguzi has openly condemned the violence attack directed at the party member by one of the youth cadets in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Isaac Jomo Osman for putting on MCP regalia.

On Tuesday morning, the social media was awash with video clip showing Osman assaulting the harmless vendor in commercial capital Blantyre.

In the video, Osman is seen assaulting the vendor and threatening the vendor while covering his head with the MCP party cloth.

Several individuals who have seen the video have condemned it claiming it is likely to bring violence in the country.

Writing on his official facebook page Lunguzi trashed the barbaric act.

“By now everyone has seen this Video Clip circulating including our Law enforcers and our Mighty Malawi Electoral Commission in Particular my “Newly Found Freind” Sangwani Mwafulirwa their Spokesperson. If you ask them their response will be “We are Waiting for the Political Party Concerned to Complain”.

“This Malawi is for all of Us including you guys in Police and MEC. Mukanachita mulongosoke realising that should you Kick the Bucket today even your Kids will need protection from a professional Police and MEC. So dont sit and watch but Act kupangira pamawa…..Malawi deserves better. Free and Fair Elections is a Process not an Event so start acting Now,” wrote Lunguzi.

Effort to talk to DPP Spokesperson Francis Kasaila proved futile.
