A man in Zambia identified as Oliver Malambo suspected to be between 28 and 29 years old has allegedly hacked his ex-wife to death using an axe.
The murder which took place on Wednesday at about midnight was reported to police by the deceased’s boyfriend.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed the development to Mwebantu in a statement and identified the deceased as Melinda Mutemwa aged 24 years.
Katongo said police Officers who visited the scene of crime found the deceased’s body lying outside the house and was found with deep cuts on the neck and on the left side of the head near the left ear.
She said the body of the deceased is in Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and that a manhunt for the suspect has been launched.
Meanwhile Katongo has appealed to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to report to any nearest Police Station.
