In Rumphi 11 people have been arrested on suspicion that they murdered Levison Kondowe, 34, on March, 3, 2024 in the area of Traditional Authority Mwamulowe in the District.
Noel Kamchenga, District police Spokesperson Sub Inspector said Happy Ngwira, 62 and 10 others were arrested yesterday.
Kondowe, was found hanging in a tree soon after he left his in-laws house. He was on separation with his wife, so he went there to negotiate with his in-laws that his wife should go back to his house and restart a family life which did not please his in-laws who assaulted him.
Postmortem conducted at Karonga District Hospital shows that his death was due to severe chest (lung trauma) and severe internal hemorrhage.
The suspects hail from Traditional Authority Mwamulowe in Rumphi and they will appear before court soon to answer murder charge.
