Balaka Police have dismissed social media reports claiming that a coffin maker was arrested for allegedly removing intravenous (IV) drips from patients in hospital wards, describing the information as false and misleading.

The police say no such arrest has been made and have urged the public to verify information through official police channels before sharing it.

They have also warned that individuals found spreading false information may face legal action.

The statement was issued by Balaka Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Gladson M’bumpha.
