A-46-year-old man in Zambia has allegedly murdered his younger brother after a suspicion that the deceased stole K780 from him.
The suspect identified as Edward Tembo allegedly murdered his younger brother identified as Raphael Tembo aged 38 years after a fight.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the duo were living in the same house in Kalingalinga Compound. “It is alleged that the deceased stole money amounting to K780 from the accused and a fight ensued when the accused person returned from a drinking spree and in the process, he picked an iron bar and hit the victim hence inflicting deep cuts on the deceased’s head,” Katongo said in a statement.
She said the incident occurred on Friday at around 23:46 hours.
Katongo said the suspect is detained in Police custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited in mortuary awaiting postmortem
