Govt sells Livimbo Secondary school to Asians in Lilongwe

Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government has sold Livimbo Secondary School to Malawians of Asians origin.

The development has caused panic among learners following an order by the new owner ordering the school authorities to vacate the place because they want to demolish the school.

The issue came to light when Principal Secretary and other 10 officials from the Ministry of Education Science and Technology appeared before the Education committee of Parliament.

“One tends to wonder where our country is going. Imagine the whole Livimbo school in Area 2 has been sold and students , am told, are now stranded.

“This is a government school and I am told the land was sold by officials from the Ministry of Lands. Who does that?” quarried Tembo.

But officials from the ministry of education failed to give a valid reason on the sale.

Unconfirmed reports from Lilongwe indicates that the concerned citizens a planning to take the issue to the street.
