NOMADS TO PLAY IN AN EMPTY STADIUM

Date:

By Andrew Kamwambi

Wanderers FC family must brace for hard times as they will have to bear and accept the fact that they will not watch their team in action at the soccer mega; Kamuzu Stadium due to the hooliganism and nasty incidents that characterized the beautiful game of football over the weekend during a super league encounter against the soldiers from Zomba (Red Lions). Wanderers fans went bananas after their 1-0 defeat claiming the officiating panel was incompetent and favoring the soldiers. Security was called to arrest the situation and reports indicate that one person was arrested during the incident with stones in his hands wanting to allegedly break windows for a shop at the ginnery corner.
Apart from being banned from using Kamuzu stadium as their home ground for the coming matches, the Nomads have also been fined close to k500, 000 and for the coming super league encounter against Zomba united; they will play in an empty stadium in kalulu. Yes, empty stadium.
This is a warning shot to other teams in the league as hooliganism is a deterrent to the beautiful game as it throws the game into disrepute.
