Govt appoints new Deputy Auditor-General

The Malawi government has appointed Mr. Rexie Chiluzi as the Deputy Auditor General in the National Audit Office (NAO). NAO is a government organ mandated to check abuse of public resources. In an October 2 2012 media statement, NAO Corporate Communications Officer Mr. Thomas Chafunya discloses that the Office of the President and Cabinet has promoted Mr. Rexie Chiluzi as the Deputy Auditor General effective September 27 2012.

Mr. Chiluzi was until this promotion an Assistant Auditor General at NAO. NAO operates under the Finance Ministry but it is working towards autonomy, which will see them report directly to Parliament.
