About 200 people in Machinga North east have ditched ruling People’s party-PP and have since joined People’s Progressive Movement- PPM.

Former PP Machinga North East Secretary Justin Anyezi confirmed that he alongside other colleagues have left the ruling party because of its bad polices.

“PP policies are not pro poor and we are convinced with the sound economic policies of PPM,” said Anyezi.

PPM President Mark Katsonga Phiri welcomed the new members at Nselema primary school in Machinga.

“PPM is geared to make changes after taking over government in 2014, and implement the sound policies earmarked to bail out Malawians from the economic hardships,” said Katsonga.

PPM sais will field a presidential candidate in 2014 tripartite elections.
