Malawi government starts holding crisis meetings

All is not rosy in government, no matter how much anybody is to make the world believe.

Even the comforting words of political analysts that have tried to put the President at ease by telling her to keep on globe-trotting while the nation is falling apart, eaten by cancerous cells of corruption, are not being enough.

Reports coming from sources within the echelons of power indicate that there are crisis meetings that are being held by the government.

According to the reports, today (Tuesday, 01 October), Vice President Khumbo Kachali addressed a cabinet

meeting whose agenda was not yet known from 10:00 hours CAT to around 14:00 hours.

Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary, Hawa Ndilowe, has called for another meeting of top government officials at the Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe. All senior civil servants from the level of directors to principal secretaries have been summoned to the meeting whose agenda as well has not been disclosed.

A source has, however, hinted that these meetings are not routine meetings but crisis meetings that the government has been forced to call especially in the wake of stinking corruption within the top ranks of government.
