Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President is today expected to face off five other contenders in the race towards the 2014 parliamentary elections even though he will stand for the same party as its President.
Chakwera, a former president of the Assemblies of God in Malawi, will be contesting against five other people in the Lilongwe North West constituency primaries.
Some two people pulled out prior to the race claiming they were certain Chakwera would be the next President and they will take over oin the by-elections that will have to follow.
