Four months to elections and a new political party has been launched bringing the total number of political parties registered in the country to 53.
The party is being led by one Mustafa Shaibu on an interim basis.
Reports that FaceofMalawi has do not indicate other people in the party or notable people that will be joining the party anytime soon.
Political analysts have already described Malawi as being overburdened with the number of political parties it has as some of them appear to be of a lesser or no value at all attached to them.
The new party formed by Shaibu is named the New Vision Democracy Party (NVDP).
