Chimunthu to bounce back in politics, as JB’s running mate

The PP house is expected to crumble with the news coming in that President Joyce Banda has decided to throw to the wind advice put forward by her party executive that she settles for Khumbo Kachali as her running mate and no other person for the sake of keeping the party together.

Reports indicate that President Banda has, however, settled for the Speaker of Parliament, Henry Chimunthu Banda, as her running mate.

According to a source, the President has decided to take Chimunthu Banda against the name of Khumbo Kachali that was put before her by the party’s executive.

Earlier reports had linked President to most names including one Sosten Gwengwe and Minister of Information Brown Mpinganjira while some had suggested Uladi Mussa.

However, by the afternoon of today President Banda was left with two choices on which she had to choose from and it appears the President has settled for Chimunthu Banda.

It has been revealed that Kachali has hinted a move from PP once he is not considered for the running mate post to Banda.
