UDF OBTAINS INJUNCTION AGAINST BILLBOARD REMOVAL

United Democratic front (UDF) has obtained  an injunction restricting Blantyre City Council (BCC ) from removing the billboard of its Presidential hopeful Atupele Muluzi in the forthcoming tripartite elections elected at Kamuzu Stadium.

UDF secretary general Kandi Padambo confirmed the development by saying the party sought  the injunction  after receiving a tip that BCC’s plans to have  the billboard removed.

“We got  a tip-off that there was a meeting between BCC and the police at council whose agenda was to remove the billboard. Because of that we rushed to court so that whenever they decide to remove the billboard, they should be shown the injunction”, Padambo highlighted .

When approached for comment BCC executive officer Ted Nandolo said he is not aware of the development.

Meanwhile UDF has placed guards at the billboard who are guarding the billboard day and night.
