SILVER CRASH EPAC TO WIN CHARITY BONANZA

The super League title holders, Silver Strikers over the Weekend thrashed Epac  FC 5-2 in Lilongwe University College of Law and Professional  Studies Charity Challenge football Bonanzaa  to be crowned champions.

The Bonanza involved four teams, two from the south and two from the central which include Big Bullets, Mighty Wonderers, Epac FC and Silver strikers. the competition was held at civo stadium in Lilongwe.

Barely 17 minutes into the first-half the bankers were comfortably leading by two goals scored by Chawanangwa  Kaonga and Thoko Stambuli.

At the end of the first-half it was Epac two-Silver three.

Despite Epac FC comeback, Silver proved too strong as the added two goals in the second-half to make it 5-2.

At the end of the match, silver coach Stain Chirwa said he would be happy going into the new season after winning two competition.


“Having triumphed in two pre-season tournaments, we will begin our title defence at full strength and with all the confidence which will be good for our campaign for a third consecutive title”, said Chirwa.

Meanwhile Audlo Makonyola said the two quick goals from Silver disturbed his teams game plan.

“We were in total control when Silver struck within a space of three minutes and as we tried to reorganize ourselves, they struck again in the second half”, said Makonyola.

As the Champions, silver pocketed K1 million while Epac pocketed K750,000.
