MEC CONDENM THE ACTS OF VIOLENCE

As the voting in the Malawi’s first ever tripartite election enters second , Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has condemned the acts of violence that erupted in some centres leading to the extension of the process.

MEC Chairperson Maxon Mbendera said this during a press briefing held at Comesa Hall which is the main Tally Center for the  body where official results for the tripartite election will be announced.

In his speech , MEC chair warned anyone who will again disrupt the voting process in the centres where voting is currently under that the law will take its cost.

He also said the centre will indefinitely  be closed.

This is the first time in Malawi history for the general election to be conducted for two days due to the acts of violence.
