The body of former deputy minister of local government Godfrey Kamanya will be laid to rest today at Area 18 Cemetery in Lilongwe.
His close friend former transport minister Ulemu Chilapondwa confirmed of the development by saying the funeral ceremony will start at 10am.
Kamanya was contesting in Lilongwe Misozi north under the ticket of the ruling People’s Party which is by far trailing on third position according to unofficial results.
His death has raised a lot of speculation despite leaving a suicide note.
Kamanya shot himself to death in the early hours of Thursday at his residents in Lilongwe.
Meanwhile it is not yet known if President Joyce Banda will attend the funeral ceremony.
