Angry protestors yesterday demolished two teachers houses and smashed a car in Chikhwawa after Malawi Electoral Commission declared United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate as a winner in Chikhwawa East Constituencies in the district.
The incidence happened in Livunzu area of Traditional Authority Makhuwila in the district.
Chikhwawa police publicist confirmed of the development.
The angry mob claimed that UDF candidate [Mr. Khumbanyiwa] connived with teachers to rig the election.
MEC announced yesterday the election results for Members of Parliament of various constituencies and Ward Councilors’ with the lion’s share of MP seats going to independent candidates.
Meanwhile no one has been arrested on the Chikhwawa fracas.
