MZUZU CITY HAS NEW MAYOR

Former ruling People’s Party (PP)Ward Councilor for Mchengautuwa East Ward William Mkandawire has been elected as new Mayor of Mzuzu City.

Mkandawire aged 29 ,claimed 8 votes from 15 after defeating other contestant who included Judith Chiumia and Samuel Gondwe.

Mkandawire graduated with BSc from Chancellor College in 2010. He is teaches at Hard Target Secondary School in his Mchengautuwa Ward.

On Tuesday, in the capital Lilongwe ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) councillor for Kawale 1 Ward Willie Chipondera was elected as the new mayor for the city.
