FISHERMAN DIES ON LAKE MALAWI

A local fisherman aged 38 who went out for fishing on Lake Malawi in Mangochi is reported dead after drowning.

Mangochi Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Rodrick Maida confirmed of the development in an interview and identified the deceased as Anafi Asani.

According to Maida, the fisherman who earned his living through fishing left his home for Chikoko Fish Beach before meeting his fate on Friday, September 19.

“The deceased as usual went fishing through Chikoko beach. In the process, he went missing and was later discovered floating – dead at Mchangani Beach on Monday September 22 at about 10 O’clock in the morning,” Maida said.

Asani hails from Nalikolo Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chowe in the district.
