Nigerian superstar Davido has announced that he will visit the country this December months after the country lost hope that he would.
Sources gathered by FaceofMalawi indicate that the artist will arrive in the country on December 4 and will perform a gig the following day for the launch of the Go Green Campaign.
The concert will be at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe’s Area 47 where five local performing artists are also billed to perform. So far, Black Missionaries and Lucius Banda have confirmed to perform on the day, according to the organisers.
The Go Green Campaign is aimed at protecting the country’s forest cover, health of users and the environment. Energy conservation initiatives such as the use of energy saving bulbs and public awareness campaigns on effective use of electricity will be key elements of the campaign.
The launch targets to raise over K17 million which shall purchase 175 000 trees.
FOM reporters speaking to the artist’s Manager Kamal Ajiboye in an interview confirmed of the development saying; “We are coming with the full band and squad of 12 people. We are all set for the show. We are looking for forward to performing in Malawi.”
