ALI KAKA APPEARS IN COURT: DENIES MURDER CHARGES

Well-known businessman and Opposition People’s Party (PP) member Ali Kaka has pleaded not guilty to murder charges when he first appeared before Blantyre High Court Judge Dorothy Nyakaunda on Tuesday.

Ali Kaka, real name Ali Saidi Chinemba is being accused of shooting to death Dave Kadzuwa, a lorry drive after the two pickled up a quarrel over a lorry which was wrongly parked in Manja next to Ali Kaka’s house last year.

The development did not go down well with the residents who retaliated by demolishing his house and torching down a vehicle his vehicle.

Chinemba escaped from the scene and he handed over himself to Soche Police in the commercial capital Blantyre and he was later released on bail.

During court sitting on Tuesday, both parties—the State and the defence—presented their submissions regarding the case.

Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to 22-24 for the hearing.
