ESCOM WORKER DIES IN CAR ACCIDENT

Electricity Supply Corporation Malawi (ESCOM) worker has committed suicide by jumping from a moving vehicle in Nkhotakota district for unknown reason.

The development comes barely days after two other ESCOM workers in the district died in a car crash.

Nkhotakota Police Public Relations Officer Austin Kaunda confirmed of the accident in an interview with the Press and identified the deceased as Ishmael Wochi aged 25.

According to Kaunda, the deceased jumped from ESCOM vehicle registration number BL 8339 on Sunday as he was in his way to officials duties with his colleagues to Dwangwa.

Wochi was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nkhotakota district hospital as he sustained serious injuries in the head.

Meanwhile Police are investigating the matter to establish what caused the deceased to jump from a moving vehicle.
