SEX WORKER ARRESTED FOR KILLING A CLIENT IN NKHOTAKOTA

Date:

Police in Nkhotakota have arrested a 22-year-old sex-worker at Mwansambo Trading Centre in Nkhotakota for allegedly murdering Mark Manuel, 26, over infidelity disagreements.

Nkhotakota Police Spokesperson Williams Kaponda said on Friday, the suspect, Memory Chikanga, was drinking beer together with the deceased before she excused herself to change clothes at a nearby resthouse where she was lodging.

“When the deceased observed that she was taking time, he decided to follow her and upon reaching the room, he found another man having romance with her.

“This ignited a quarrel between the two and the suspect snatched a Carlsberg bottle from the deceased, smashing it on ground before hitting the deceased on the neck,” he said.

Kaponda said thereafter, well-wishers rushed Manuel to Mwansambo Health Centre where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“A report from the health centre revealed that the death was due to excessive loss of blood,” he said.

Police have since charged Chikanga who hails from Futi Village in the area of T/A Kalonga in Salima with murder.

Manuel hailed from Mtemanyanga Village in the area of T/A Mwansambo in Nkhotakota.
