Angry mob in Neno has beaten to death a 47 year suspected thief who was caught breaking into a house.
Police confirmed of the development in a statement made available to FaceofMalawi, saying the particulars of the deceased are yet to be known.
According to the statement, on December 23, 2015, the deceased and his friend went to steal in Kanangwanji village.
“They managed to break into two houses and when they were breaking into a third house, they were caught by the angry community members.
“The deceased friend managed to escape and the mob beat up the culprit severely to death,” reads the statement in part.
According to the statement, Postmortem results showed that the deceased died due to internal bleeding.
Meanwhile the Police have advised the general public to desist from taking the law into their own hands.
