NJAUJU GRUESOME MURDER UPDATES: POLICE SUSPECT RELEASED ON BAIL

Police criminal investigations department officer Christopher Naphiyo who was arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director of Corporate Service Issa Njauju has been released on bail.

National Police Spokesperson Nicholas Gondwa confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the privately owned radio.

Gondwa said Naphiyo is answering murder charges.

Naphiyo was arrested on December 18, 2015 after claiming at one of the drinking joints in the capital Lilongwe that he knows those people who murdered Njauju.

According to inside sources, fellow officer reported the matter after hearing the news.

Naphiyo is the second person to be arrested in connection with the death of Njauju after the arrest of another man who has since been charged with murder after he was found with a mobile phone belonging to Njauju.
