Police in Dowa are keeping in custody an 18 year old boy for allegedly murdering his father in Dowa.
Police in Dowa have confirmed of the development and identified the suspect as Lewis Kachigamba of Topaizi village,T/A Msakambewa in the district.
“What transpired on this particular day was that, Genesis was drunk and was insulting his wife, Lewis got angry with the act and he started beating his father who became unconscious and died on the spot,” reads the police report in part.
Police have identified the deceased as Genesis Kachigamba aged 44 from the same village.
Postmortem conducted at Dowa District Hospital revealed that death was due to internal bleeding.
Lewis Kachigamba will appear before court soon to answer charges of murder.
