TEACHER ARRESTED FOR DEFILING STANDARD 6 PUPIL IN MACHINGA

Police at Nselema in Machinga have arrested a 32 year old Clement Manora, a primary school teacher, in Mangochi for defiling 15 year old standard six pupil.

Machinga Police Public Relations Officer, Davie Sulumba confirmed the recent arrest of Manora from Nampinguja Primary School at Traditional Authority Bwananyambi.

He said the teacher will answer defilement charges contrary to Section of 138 of the Penal Code.

The police publicist said the girl’s uncle took the issue to Nselema police after being convinced that her niece was indeed defiled.

The girl told her uncle that the teacher defiled her in exchange for academic favours.

Police in Machinga have recently recorded many cases of defilement and courts in Machinga have sentences men to maximum of 14 years imprisonment to stop would be defilers from dong the same.
