MEET MALAWI’s FIRST FEMALE CAPTAIN

Malawi’s flag continues to fly high across the African continent as most of its citizens are being recognized worldwide.

The development follows the remarkable achievement registered by Yolanda Kaunda who has become Malawi first female pilot to attain the rank of captain which is the highest.

Malawi’s first female Pilot was Fellie Mkandawire who did not reach that far.

Mkandawire was among many Malawians who took to Facebook to congratulate Kaunda.

“While I was the first female Malawian pilot, there are, within the pilot profession, different ranks. I stopped flying some years back with the rank of senior first officer. Yolanda has just attained the rank of Captain.

“This is indeed a landmark achievement in Malawian aviation history. Congratulations captain,” wrote Mkandawire.

Meanwhile congratulatory messages continue to trickle on the social network for Kaunda.
