Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has with immediate effect suspended operations of Shire Highlands Hotel situated in Limbe.

The development comes barely days after MBS also suspended operations of operations of Malawi Sun Hotel and Conference Centre Bakery.

According to a statement made available to FaceofMalawi, the hotel has been closed down due to to non compliance with hygienic conditions as stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21: Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions.

“The MBS wishes to advise the general public against patronizing Shire Highlands Hotel situated in Limbe until the hygienic conditions have been improved and the suspension lifted by the MBS,” reads in part the statement.

Superior Halaal Meats Butchery, Superior Food Market – Catering Services, and Superior Food Market Bakery (Bread and Bans), Situated at the North Gate Arcade along the Masauko Chipembere Highway in Blantyre was also recently closed down by MBS for failing to comply with hygienic conditions.
