Pope Francis has appointed Reverend Dr . John Ryan SPS – Missionary Society of Saint Patrick’s as the Bishop elect for Mzuzu Diocese in the Northern region.
Father Ryan replaces late Bishop Joseph Mukasa Zuza who died in road accident while on his way to Mzuzu on January 15, 2015.
This has been disclosed in a short statement posted on I am Catholic and I am proud Facebook page by Blazio Liyawo.
Father John Ryan was a lecturer at Mzuzu University.
He is Irish and has worked in the diocese of Mzuzu since 1978.
