Fired MCP MP Felix Jumbe moved to independent benches in Parliament

Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya has relocated to independents side the fired Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for Salima Central Felix Jumbe following the request he received from the party on Monday.

Just after Parliament commenced on Monday, Msowoya said his office has received a letter from MCP asking his office to allocate Jumbe a seat to the independent side, saying he is not recognized as MCP member.

Speaker also informed the House that Zomba Ntonya, Patrick Makina has been reloated to independents side after Peoples Party (PP) expelled him “for not working in the interest of the party.”

Speaking in an interview after the exercise, Jumbe accused Msowoya of his decision to accept MCP request to move him, saying the Speaker was an interested party since he remained the MCP vice –president.

Jumbe was fire in MCP for bringing the party into disrepute.
